"Abstract #1" concept for a mural in an office building. To scale this piece to a mural size, the ground of piece can be a burlap or linen canvas. The embroidery can be created with rope inserted into the canvas. The clay pieces can be created at a larger scale with ceramic clay.
The original embroidery "sketch" on a 6"x6" canvas. It was a improvisational process. First the canvas was tinted with a fabric paint. Using embroidery floss, polymer clay shapes and metal rings to create new dimensional forms was part of this sketch process. I also used Amazonite beads and handmade beads in this sketch.
